Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s
In Robin Class we are working hard to try and get onto the Monkey Puzzle Multiplication scheme. Once we are able to count in 2s, 5s and 10s confidently, we can earn a pineapple for the tree. Here is a link to a 100 grid to help you practice.

Trip Crownhill Fort 4.3.15
Today Robin Class visited Crownhill Fort for our current topic Towers, Tunnels and Turrets. We enjoyed looking at the ramparts on the grounds. Some of us even tried to move the canon together using the ropes - it was far too heavy! After we visited the museums where we learnt about the life of soldiers and we were able to try on some of the uniforms. Finally we explored the tunnels! It was very cramped so we had to walk in single file. The tunnels were dark and dingy.
Please use the link below to listen to how the sounds are pronounced. These are the Set 1 speed sounds.

Read Write Inc.
In Year 1 the children are split into different reading groups for Read Write Inc. This is based on their reading level. During Read Write Inc the children learn different phonemes (sounds) for reading such as 'ee', 'or' and
'a-e'. This allows them to read a wider vocabulary of words more confidently and will prepare for the phonics screening in June. In order to support your child effectively, please click on the link below to watch a parent guidance video.
This week we have been learning about Florence Nightingale in History. Enjoy using this link to learn more:
