Diving coaches from the Life Centre came to Beechwood today. The children's flexibility, jumping and rolling skills were pushed to the limits. Who knows, we could have the next Tom Daley.

Summer is on it's way.

Hello and welcome back to another fun filled term in Hornbeam Class. We hope you have had a fabulous Easter break and are ready and raring to go for Summer 2016. To ease you back into learning, please find a link below to a numeracy game that will help with basic mathematical skills.

'Hit the Button' is an interactive maths game with quick fire questions on number bonds, times tables, doubling and halving, multiples, division facts and square numbers. The games which are against the clock challenge and develop your mental maths skills. Good luck and enjoy!

Science Week Day 1:

Engineers from Babcock Marine International joined us for an exciting afternoon of monster brush making complete with 3 volt electrical circuits. This is linked to the KS2 curriculum of which the children have been learning how circuits work during science. The skills learnt this afternoon include designing, building, testing and problem solving, all of which are key engineering qualities. Could we have any future budding engineers among us?

Farm To Fork!

Year 3 had a very smelly afternoon when Tesco came to help us learn where our food comes from. We were able to see and feel some different foods that come from the sea, including plaice, crab, mussels, tuna and prawns.
Hornbeam Class were joined by Ash, Larch and Elder classes on their visit to Plymouth National Marine Aquarium. We saw all kinds of ocean animals, from The Sunlight zone right down to The Abyss. We all had a whale of a time!
