Welcome to Woodpecker Class
Your teachers are called Mrs Francis and Mrs Clark. Mrs Clark works on Fridays. The teaching assistants working in your class are Mrs Jutson and Mrs Pinhey.
For the Autumn Term we have so many exciting topics and activities for the children and staff including:
- How did the Romans change Britain?
- Designing and building a Roman ruin.
- Constructing a Roman bust using clay.
- What have humans discovered about space?
- Exploring significant events in space travel.
- Composing a piece of music inspired by The Planets.
Our PE sessions are on a Tuesday. Children should keep their PE in school in case there are additional sessions.
All learning whilst you are at home can be found on the eschools login on the Beechwood website. Please message us and let us know what you have been learning. The link below may also be useful.
We love earning Dojo Points in class. We can earn points for demonstrating our whole school learning behaviours: creativity, curiosity, independence, reflection, resilience and teamwork. Every time we are 'caught' using these learning behaviours we receive a Dojo point from the teachers. We can collect Dojo points to earn rewards. Our Class Dojo is linked to our parents and we can share our learning directly with them.
This year, Raven Class are focusing on our reading skills. When the children have completed a book, they can log on to their REN learning area using the link below and complete a quiz about it. The children can also log on a home and complete quizzes. They all have their own user name and passwords. They can show you all of the books they have read and all of the quizzes they have passed
Children should also be learning their times tables as all children are expected to know each multiplication table (up to 12 x 12) by heart by the time they reach secondary school. Your child can develop their skills by using TTRS at home on the internet. We have found that the site is fun and an excellent vehicle for learning!
