Year 6 - Pandemonium

Welcome to Pandemonium Class

We have two classes in Year 6 at Beechwood Primary Academy.
Wisdom Class - Miss Irvine (Class Teacher)
Pandemonium Class - Miss Hemelik (Class Teachers)
The Teaching Assistant's working in Year 6 are Mrs Fice, Mrs Young and Mrs Jutson

To prepare children for secondary school we issue three pieces of written homework each week. In addition to this we ask that children are learning their times tables, weekly spellings and reading regularly. The days for written homework are as follows:

Monday - Maths Homework handed out (to be handed in on Wednesday)
Wednesday - English Homework handed out (to be handed in on Friday)
Friday - Topic Homework handed out (to be handed in on the Monday of the following week)

Failure to submit homework on time, without a valid reason, will result in the child remaining in at breaktime for five minutes to complete the work.

Children complete English and maths homework in booklets that are based upon SAT questions. We find the books to be the best way of preparing your child for the types of questions they will encounter during SATS in May 2019.

Children should also be learning their times tables as all children are expected to know each multiplication table (up to 12 x 12) by heart by the time they reach secondary school.

In addition to the pieces of written homework we ask that all children read regularly. We suggest a minimum of 15 minutes per night. Reading and discussing books each night will help your children to develop the higher order reading skills of comprehension and will help to move their reading forward.

Class Dojo

Thank you to all Pandemonium Parents - We have all signed up and are receiving messages.

We love earning Dojo Points in class. We can earn points for demonstrating our whole school learning behaviours: creativity, curiosity, independence, reflection, resilience and teamwork. Every time we are 'caught' using these learning behaviours we receive a Dojo point from the teachers. We can collect Dojo points to earn rewards. Our Class Dojo is linked to our parents and we can share our learning directly with them.
